This past Sunday marked the opening of the 2009 New Mexico Off-Road Series. The Coyote Classic race was actually in El Paso TX, but it is a part of the NM Series. The team swept the pro podium, with Damian Calvert in first place, Santiago Chavez in second and Jens Nielsen in third.
The race was run by Mike Rosson of The Bicycle Company, a long time sponsor of the team, and all racers enjoyed the challenging but fun course.
As a bonus, the El Paso Times (Sunday March 22, 2009) time wrote an article on Santiago, our El Paso team mate. There was also additional race coverage online.
This past Saturday, the team had our bi-annual trail work day in the Elena Gallegos trail area in Albuquerque’s Open Space. We improved a section of badly eroded trail, by rerouting and improving drainage. Thanks to everyone that came out.
