New Mexico Sports Authority Mountain Bike Championships - Presented by Sport Systems

The 2009 edition of the New Mexico Sports Authority Mountain Bike Championships - Presented by Sport Systems was a huge success. We had 27 Super-D racers on Saturday and 170 XC racers on Sunday.

For the third year, the USAC NM State XC Championship will be held at Cedro just outside Albuquerque. In addition to the XC race on Sunday, there will be a non-NMORS NM State Super-D Championship on Saturday.

Race to Benefit American Cancer Society- Relay for Life

Race Schedule

Super-D Race:

  • Saturday August. 8th, 2009
  • Race start - 4pm (60 seconds intervals)
  • Update on August 7: Click for Super-D Start Times
  • Four race categories - Men and Women: Pro / Cat 1 and Cat 2 (No Cat 3/Beginners)
  • No age categories

XC Race:

  • Sunday August. 9th, 2009
  • Mandatory racers meeting at 8:45am
  • Pro/Cat 1 Start - 9am (~23 miles)
  • Cat 2/SS ~9:01am (~23 miles)
  • Cat 3 ~9:30am (~7 miles)
  • ‘Just for Fun’ Kids Race ~12noon

Registration

Online:

  • Register online at New Mexico Sports Online
  • Online registration closes Thursday August 6th at 11:59pm Eastern Time (9:59pm MST)
  • Register online and get a cool t-shirt for the XC race (First 100 racers)
  • All riders must have a USA Cycling license (Super-D and XC race)
  • Cat 2, SS and Cat 3 may purchase a one day license at packet pickup
  • Pro/Cat 1 must have an annual license, which you can purchase at packet pickup

Onsite Registration/Packet Pickup:

  • Friday August 7th: 4-7pm @ Sport Systems on 6915 Montgomery NE in Albuquerque (Payment by cash or check only!!!)
  • Saturday August 8th: 1-3pm @ Cedro campground
  • Sunday August 9th: 7am to 1hr before race start @ Cedro campground.

Fees:

  • Super-D: $20
  • XC: $35
  • Both Races: $50
  • Late Registration (Friday +$10 Saturday/Sunday +$20)

We’ll be offering over $3500 in cash, merchandise, gift cards and raffle prizes!!

(Must be NM resident and have USAC annual license to qualify for medal)

Directions

  • From Tijeras (7 miles east of ABQ on I-40 or south from Santa FE on NM 14 thru Madrid)
  • South on NM 337 for 5.1 miles, turn left (east) on Juan Tomas Rd (Forest Rd 242)
  • Continue 0.6 miles to Forest Rd 252 (a gravel road to your left)
  • Left (north) on FR 252 for 1.5 miles to the Campground

Accommodations

  • Hotel: There are many hotels in Albuquerque, find one online and book!
  • Camping: The entry fee includes camping at the Cedro Campground Friday and Saturday nights
