Adoption Exchange Classic

Join Mountain TopCycling and The Adoption Exchange for the 4th Annual Adoption Exchange Road Racing Omnium and fundraising event.  The 2012 Adoption Exchange Classic will have 3 events in 2 days, and the winner will be determined by the rider with the fewest points in each category.  All three events are included in the New Mexico Road Series and ALL proceeds of this race will be donated to The Adoption Exchange, in support of their efforts to find permanent adoptive homes for the New Mexico children waiting in foster care.

Saturday March 31st

The Adoption Exchange Road Race presented by

First race goes off @ 09:00 AM.

Course: The road race course will be a 31.25 mile loop comprising of HW14, HW344 and HW306 (Frost road).

Course Description:

  • Start/Finish – Paako Community center
  • Racers will take a left turn on NM 14 and they will travel east until the intersection with NM 344.
  • Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 344.
  • They will follow NM 344 up Heart Break Hill, thru Cedar Grove until the intersection with NM 306 (a.k.a Frost Road).
  • Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 306.  They will follow NM 306 up to the intersection with NM 14.
  • Riders will make a right hand turn on NM 14 to the Start/finish line.
  • Depending on the race category, racers will be riding 1 or 2 loops.

Directions:

  • From ABQ: Take I-40 east towards Santa Rosa.
  • Take exit 175 toward NM-14/Cedar Crest.
  • Merge onto NM-333 E
  • Turn left onto NM-14N/NM-14 Scenic N
  • Turn Left toward Paa ko Dr.
  • Paa-Ko Communities

Sunday April 1st – Morning

The Adoption Exchange TT sponsored by Chasing 3 Race Productions

First rider goes off at 07:30 AM. The riders starting order will be posted on race day.

Course: The time trial course will be a 20k rolling out and back along the WEST I-40 frontage road to include portions of the moderate descent, 7% grade, and (then) climb out of Rio Puerco Valley.

Directions:

  • From the Big I (I-25/I-40) take I-40 West to Exit No. 149, now named Atrisco Vista formerly Paseo Del Volcan (top of Nine Mile Hill west of Albuquerque) and proceed north 1/4 mile.
  • Parking is on the west side of Atrisco Vista (Paseo Del Volcan).
  • Start will be on I-40 Frontage just west Atrisco Vista (Paseo Del Volcan).
  • No parking on the Frontage road.

Sunday April 3rd – Afternoon

The Adoption Exchange Criterium presented by


First race goes off @ 12:30 PM.

Course: The Adoption Exchange Classic Criterium will be held at the Sandia Motor Speedway on a paved 1.1 mile road course. The 36 foot wide road course incorporates technical and sweeping turns as well as a bank turns.

Directions:

  • From ABQ: Take I-40 west and take the Paseo Del Volcan exit (exit 149).
  • Turn left, heading South, cross the freeway, and make your first right.
  • Head west on the Frontage road for four miles, turn left at the stop sign, Shelly Rd., and head south.
  • The Musco lights should be visible from the road. At the stop sign, Speedway Blvd., turn right and then pull into the gate on your left

Costs:

  • Omnium (all 3 events): $55.00 dollars.
  • One event (Either the RR, the TT or the CRIT): $25 dollars.
  • Any 2 events combination: $45.00 dollars.
  • Family Racers: $25.00 dollars per family of any size.
  • Juniors race free in their own category.
  • Late registration add $10.00 dollars.
  • Extra CRIT: $5.00 dollars.
  • Race fees waived with pledges of $50.00 dollars or more per rider. Please visit www.adoptex.org to get information on how to solicit pledges and to get pledges form.

(2) Solicitation of $50.00 dollars or more of donations/sponsorships waives registration for any event. Contact the Adoption Exchange 247-1769 or online at www.adoptex.org for a pledge form.

(3) Online registration will be closed on Thursday, March 29th, 11:59 PM.

(4) Late registration and packet pick up on Friday, March 30th, from 4-7 pm @ Sport Systems, 6915 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.

(5) NO RACE REGISTRATION. Packets pick up ONLY on race day.
