Trail Advocacy

As outdoor enthusiasts, Sport Systems MountainTop Cycling recognizes the need to give back to the trails that we enjoy throughout the year. Therefore, we have adopted a trail in the foothills trail system of Albuquerque. This trail is in Elena Gallegos area, and is a part of the Albuquerque Open Space, which encompasses over 28,000 acres in and around Albuquerque.
We usually have two work days every year, one in the spring and one in the falls. We estimate that the team volunteers more that 100 hours a year for this effort.

Race Promotion

Sport Systems MountainTop Cycling promotes several races in and around Albuquerque. These races include:

- The Adoption Exchange Classic. Proceeds benefiting the Adoption Exchange.

- The New Mexico Mountain Bike Championship. Proceeds benefit the ALS Association.

- The Candyman Triathlon.

Mountain Bike Junior Team and Kids Races

We started a junior cycling team program at a local middle school, which grew into a junior race team, with several successful under 18 races. The goal is to get kids interested the sport we love and help grow the sport.

At the races and events we promote we also have free kids races. These events gets the younger kids on their bikes in a fun and safe environment.
