New Venue Information:

This year’s unofficial NM MTB Championship race will be held at the Sandia Peak Ski Area on Saturday August 6, 2011!!!! We will NOT be at Cedro this year.

As of Saturday 7/23/2011 the Sandia Ranger District will reopen the forest, so be ready to race on Aug 6 at Sandia Peak Ski Area.

We encourage everyone to become a fan!!!! We have a really great event planned this year with awesome race courses, an awards ceremony, food and live music! It really will be a celebration of mountain biking in New Mexico!

XC: $40: (includes $5 donation to the ALS Association – Fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease.)
Juniors $20
“Dude” category (never raced before) $20

Online registration through Thursday, August 4. Register at: New Mexico Sports Online
Register at Sport Systems on Friday August 5 with a $10 late fee.
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!!!

Free T-shirts to the first 100 registered.

Packet pick-up

At Sport Systems on Friday, August 5 at 3pm – 7pm
Saturday: Sandia Peak Base Area (Race Site): 7am – 8:30am

Points and Awards:

The race count toward the New Mexico Off-Road Series (NMORS). Except the “dude” category.
The XC race is the unofficial NM State Championship.
Prizes awarded to top three finishers in each category.

We also have the “dude” category, for someone that never has raced before.  No age group, just men and women.

Camping:

There is no camping at the ski area.

Kids Race

We’ll have a free kids race around noon.

Post Race Activities:

We’ll have food and music after the race.
Come to race, and stay for the after-party.

Feed Zone:

There will be a neutral feed zone near the finish line. You can put your own bottles there.

Saturday XC Race Start Times:

Mandatory race meeting Saturday at 8:40am at the ski area base (registration area).

Pro/Cat 1 Men/Women 9:00am (1 full and 1 med loop ~ 23 miles)
SS/Cat 2 Men/Women 9:05am (1 short and 1 full loop ~ 17.5 miles)
Cat 3 Men/Women 9:10am (2 short loops ~ 7 miles)
“Dude Cat” 9:15am (1 short loop ~ 3.5 miles)

Race Directions:

From Albuquerque, I-40 East to the Cedar Crest Exit 175, North on NM HWY 14 to the Crest Scenic Byway 536, then 6 miles to the ski area.
