Raffle

We raised over $2,000 for ALS support from the raffle.

This year we have a raffle to support ALS Fundraising. You can win a 2012 Kona Kahuna 29er bike, and other cool prizes. Tickets can be purchased at Sport Systems prior to race day, and at the race venue July 28 and 29. The prize drawing is July 29 at the race.

The Hill Climb race will use the King of the Mountain trail at Sandia Ski Area.

XC-TT (Super-D) Race Information:

Date: July 29, 2012

Course:

The XC-TT (Super-D) race will use the Golden Eagle trail at Sandia Ski Area. One run down the trail.

Start Time:

Racers will start at a 30 sec interval. The start times will be based on the XC race finish order, and posted at the race venue. If a XC-TT (Super-D) racer didn’t race the XC race, they will start behind the XC racers.
Your USAC XC category will be used for the Super-D event. If you only race the Super-D, you may use your USAC gravity category.

Note: start times may be adjusted as we get closer to race day, please check back.

The race fee includes a cool water bottle and a donation to the ALS Association – Fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Juniors are 1/2 price.

Note: The entry to the Super-D race does NOT include the lift ticket. You can race the KOM, ride to the top, or use the chair lift. The lift rate is $8 ($4 discount).

T-Shirt

This year we will be selling technical t-shirts along with registration.  Please consider purchasing, you can add them to your registration at New Mexico Sports Online. This race is working to raise as much money and awareness for ALS Association, and the t-shirts are another way to do that. You can also order a t-shirt at packet pickup, for later pickup at Sport Systems.

Packet pick-up

At Sport Systems on Friday, July 27 at 3pm – 7pm

Saturday: Sandia Peak Base Area (Race Site): 7am – 8:30am
Sunday: Sandia Peak Base Area (Race Site): 7:30am – 9:30am

Omnium Format:

Races counts for omnium points, where an overall omnium winner per category will be crowned.
The omnium scoring is as follows:

XC: 1st 50pts, 2nd 48pts, 3rd 46pts etc.
Hill Climb: 1st 25pts, 2nd 24pts, 3rd 23pts etc.
XC TT (Super D): 1st 25pts, 2nd 24pts, 3rd 23pts etc.
Most points win.
Tiebreaker: XC TT (Super D)

Points and Awards:

The XC count toward the New Mexico Off-Road Series (NMORS). Except the “dude” category.
All races are the NM State Championship in each category.
Prizes awarded to top three omnium finishers in each category.

We also have the “dude” category, for someone that never has raced before.  No age group, just men and women.

Accommodation:

There is no camping at the ski area, but plenty of hotels in Albuquerque.

Kids Race

We’ll have a free kids race around noon on Saturday.

Post Race Activities:

We’ll have food  after the race.
Come to race, and stay for the after-party.

Feed Zone:

There will be a neutral feed zone near the finish line. You can put your own bottles there.

Race Directions:

From Albuquerque, I-40 East to the Cedar Crest Exit 175, North on NM HWY 14 to the Crest Scenic Byway 536, then 6 miles to the ski area.
